No Name School – Term 2 Journey Report

Term 2 of No Name School was conducted from 21 September 2025 to 7 December 2025 and marked a significant milestone in the programme’s pilot phase. During this period, 126 children were enrolled, supported by a committed team of four dedicated educators and three volunteer educators. The term focused on nurturing children’s holistic development through a balanced blend of creative learning, mindfulness, and cultural grounding, delivered in a warm, community-centred environment.

A gentle and age-appropriate introduction to core Buddhist principles was offered, familiarising children with the concept of Taking Refuge in the Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha, alongside meaningful exposure to Bhutanese culture and values. These elements were integrated thoughtfully through stories, songs, activities, and shared reflections, ensuring inclusivity and sensitivity while fostering cultural identity, respect, and emotional awareness among the children.

One of the most profound achievements of Term 2 was the Cultural Concert held on 5 December 2025, where every cohort presented a Bhutanese song. This event was organised with the clear intention of contributing to the preservation of Bhutanese and Buddhist values within the diaspora community. The concert not only showcased the children’s confidence, teamwork, and creativity but also served as a powerful moment of collective pride for families, educators, and the wider community.

In recognition of its growing impact and service to the community, No Name School was also honoured with a Community Service Award by the Bhutan Chamber of Commerce of Western Australia. This acknowledgment affirmed the value of the initiative and reinforced its role as a meaningful platform for cultural preservation, community engagement, and the nurturing of future generations. Overall, Term 2 stands as a period of gratitude, learning, and achievement, laying a strong foundation for the programme’s continued growth and refinement.
